Monica was very fond of Philip. From their first meeting, despite the fact that they met by accident – by catching each other’s earphones in the subway. He was so breathtakingly handsome and sweet that she immediately melted. He was also gallant and very generous, and on top of that, a wonderful father to a little girl. He raised her together with her mother because his wife left him for a new family and did not want to take her daughter with her. But Monica even liked it. The girl was just a baby, a little under two years old, and she easily called her daddy’s girlfriend “mom.
Monica’s parents also immediately fell in love with Philip. They wanted to marry their daughter off as soon as possible and see her as a mother, and because he was a good, hard-working, loving guy. Monica’s mother sometimes forgot that little Sarah was not her own granddaughter, it was so easy to believe in their family.
Already when it came to the wedding, Philip, Monica, and little Sarah went to the village where the bride’s grandfather lived. He was her favorite relative, always spoiling her as a child with her grandmother. Now he was left alone, he had grown coarse and callous without a woman by his side, and he was suspicious of Philip at first sight.
– It is not good to marry a man with a child. And he’s handsome, too – all the girls will cling to him. “Monica, come to your senses,” Grandpa said.
He looked sideways at Philip and his future great-granddaughter, afraid to approach the two of them. On the evening of the second day, Monica wanted to show her fiancé around, and so she begged her grandfather to look after Sarah. He didn’t want to, but he had to.
When the young couple returned, the grandfather was already full of laughter because of the girl’s babbling and was making a wooden horse for her. His great-granddaughter was able to melt his heart and he even looked at Philip differently. The next day he invited him to go fishing, and they roasted kebabs together, and listened to the same old songs that Monica personally did not recognize.
As a result, Grandpa just had to try to accept into the family someone he considered unsuitable for his granddaughter. And then everything fell into place – Monica is happy with Philip, little Sarah is thrilled with her new mom, and what else is needed for a great married life?
