The husband found out about his wife’s cheating, and she couldn’t choose who to stay with.

He found out about Rebecca’s new relationship through mutual acquaintances. Some of his friends were convinced that they were already divorced and Rebecca had a new family. So as not to beat around the bush, right that night he asked his wife if it was true, and she didn’t deny it. After the conversation she began to pack her things, thinking only of herself and not worrying about her husband and ten-year-old son, who would have to explain the reasons for his mother’s departure.

They had lived together for fifteen years, had ups and downs, but never had to doubt that they loved each other and would remain so until their old age. And here it is…

– Wait, you can’t leave now, we haven’t finished repairing the nursery and there’s no way I can wallpaper it alone. My son is still young, he can’t help either.

Rebecca had to postpone her departure. During the repair her husband thought of a new task – to help with the general cleaning, to sort out the old things at once, and there were her son’s old toys and children’s clothes. All this made Rebecca inexplicably homesick for the past.

“We’ve always had a good life. Why would I want that Mark?” – she thought to herself, while she continued to put things away.

Rebecca left three days later, leaving her keys on the nightstand in her bedroom. She lied to her son that she was leaving for work and would be back soon, and her husband knew that he would not. Who comes back to a family with a child when they have a lover?

But he was wrong. Not a day later, the doorbell rang. He opens the door, and there’s Rebecca on the doorstep. All in tears, as if someone has offended, but in fact she changed her mind. She threw herself into her husband’s arms and began to cry bitterly.

– I will not be able without you and your son – she said, sniffling her nose. – I’ll never be able to, my love.
