I am 63 years old. For ten years now, my husband and I have lived alone in a 3-room apartment, my daughter and son have been living separately for a long time. Many of my friends and acquaintances of this age have a similar situation, and logically the question arises: “Is it worth it to change your OWN FATHER for a smaller one? After all, there is no need for a three-room apartment anymore.”
We made up our minds. We invited a realtor, she evaluated our apartment, and she said we could find a one-bedroom for cheap. That is, there was still quite an interesting sum. What actually turned out? We started to sell. At first there was indecision, we didn’t know if it would sell or not. From this one room was not looked at in advance.
The buyer was found somehow even surprisingly quickly. Two weeks were given for the paperwork. It was necessary to urgently look for an option to buy. We wanted to buy a one-bedroom apartment on the day of the sale of our apartment.
After looking at several apartments, we realized that we did not like them. Even if you take a smaller apartment in their own house, that is not taking into account the area, the deterioration of the house. In our case, it would not have been the amount we were counting on.
And then we thought it would be nice to buy an apartment close to my daughter’s family. While the grandchildren are young, help her, and then we might need help, and they have an area more expensive considered. And the house also wanted to be newer, that’s for sure, but it’s more pleasant to live in new houses.
In general, we have looked through ten more options and have chosen an apartment. It seems to be in good condition, but all the same something needs to be done. The kitchens are left now, but we had to change the oven, the bathtub and the toilet. Needed a hallway, sofa, table in the kitchen. Curtains also want to change. Tried to hang the old ones, but they do not please me at all.
In general, the amount that left us is not what was intended, or rather almost nothing left.
The main advantage is that the rent will be 40% less than for two-bedroom apartment. When you are a pensioner, this also becomes very important. And we also renewed the furniture, which is also nice. It was not very profitable for us.
