My mother-in-law told me to leave me if I dared to look at another girl, and now she convinces me to forgive my wife’s cheating.

Even at the wedding my mother-in-law gave her beloved daughter an admonition during her toast:

– If he dares to look at other girls – chase him away. My daughter is the only and unique, her husband must adore and love her, and if he looks at others, he is not worthy.

I don’t have to tell you how unpleasant it was to hear that in front of all my friends and relatives on a holiday. Some people might have thought that this had already happened, so my mother-in-law reprimanded me or, rather, warned me. Let me tell you right away that I am not a party person at all and I have never had the slightest thought of cheating. I can spend time with friends or prefer lazy computer games, sitting at home all day, but my wife is always going somewhere, doing something, getting acquainted with someone, communicating.

I did not pay much attention to this, until somehow she forgot to log out of the Facebook account on her home laptop, and I began to receive hundreds of notifications from some “Robert”, who was waiting for her at home, was sending photos of his naked torso, and the correspondence made it clear that my wife was going to visit him and sent no less explicit photos in response.

Since I caught her cheating, she did not deny it. She agreed to pack her things and move in with my parents. Apparently, only my mother-in-law wasn’t ready. She made my wife call me, apologize, ask me to move back in, because we were just collecting divorce papers. My mother-in-law really didn’t want my daughter to divorce me, so she personally showed up to visit when she wasn’t called.

– You’re a smart boy, you know you can’t survive without my daughter. She used to cook for you and get you ready for work. She’s very caring, she just didn’t get enough care from you, so she looked the other way.
– I’m not only smart, but I’m a big boy, I can take care of myself. And if she had only looked the other way, that’s how she went about it.

My mother-in-law begged me tearfully. She justified her daughter as best she could, and I didn’t miss the opportunity to remind her:

– You said at the wedding that cheaters should be chased away.
– That’s what I told my daughter…
– And I have to put up with cheating? My parents are also worried about me and also want my wife to appreciate me. If you’re worried about your daughter being left with nothing, you’re not worried for nothing. The apartment is the parents, registered to them, we have no children – I do not owe her anything. Let Robert provide for her now.

I kicked my former mother-in-law out the door without feeling any resentment or sadness. I knew that this would pass and be forgotten, and there was another family ahead of me, a real one, without cheating or harsh language. In fact, my mother-in-law was right on target, she had predicted cheating, only she was wrong about the cheater.
