Several years ago my husband and I moved to another city where my husband was offered a good job. And my husband’s mother remained to live in a nice two-room apartment, which she received from the company, where she worked for over 30 years. But every summer she came to visit us on vacation.
One day my mother-in-law called and said that an acquaintance of hers was coming to our city on business with a large cargo. And asked us to take him and his wife for two weeks. My husband agreed, called them and warned me that his mother’s acquaintances would stay with us. They say, they will not give us much trouble, because we are at work until late at night anyway. In addition, the temporary tenants are going to cook for themselves or will eat out. My husband is a kind-hearted man and a responsive son. So he decided to help what he thought were good people. Who could have known that his kindness would backfire on our family?
While my mother-in-law’s friend was out all day long running his business and meeting with the right people, his wife, being much younger than her husband, was bored and lonely. She had no girlfriends in our town, and my husband and I were at work on weekdays, so the young woman had to think up her own entertainment.
So she came up with the idea to travel with my husband (after asking my permission) to major shopping malls in search of new brand clothes. Like, my husband, as a young man, will be able to assess her new bows and tell her what suits her best. I, unsuspecting, agreed and was even glad that I could do all my chores in peace while no one was home.
That’s when I was in for a surprise. While cleaning my bedroom with my husband, I swept our guest’s shorn hair out from under the couch. And when I was changing the bedding, I found some more of her hair hidden in the pillowcase of the pillow my husband sleeps on. I was stunned. What’s that?! She must be trying to put a spell on my husband. Ungrateful bastard!
I looked at those dyed strands and it was like my eyes were opened. It looked like this person had been trying to get at my husband for a long time! A couple of times before that, I had seen her casually float into the kitchen in a seductive negligee for a “drink of water. It is too feigned embarrassment and slams her eyes with a look of, “Oh, and I thought everyone had gone out on their own business, and no one is home.” Fortunately, my husband is not the type to fall for these cheap tricks. He didn’t pay any attention to her flirting at all. But, as they say, what the hell?
From that day on, I never left them alone with my husband. I made up plausible excuses that I also had to go in the same direction. Or she would find urgent business at home that required my husband’s help. And I was impatiently counting the days left until these uninvited guests left.
So from this unpleasant situation I learned a quite logical lesson for the future: it is better not to house unfamiliar people in my house. Who knows what kind of a pig the young wives of older spouses, who are too busy with their business and work issues, can slip into. Sometimes these husbands have no idea what their young, bored wives can do. And I advise you to be more careful with people with whom, for whatever reason, life brings you together.
