– It’s always your mother who’s sick, or your grandfather who’s sick! I’m sick of putting up with your sick relatives! – said my boyfriend.

– I understand perfectly,” Adam said in a patient voice, “your grandfather is sick again… It’s not the first time. He has had two operations, and with this newfangled virus in the hospital, so can not he cope with the pressure himself?
– He forgets to take his pills, and then he gets sick and calls an ambulance. The neighbors say doctors come every other day,” I answered. – He’ll be better off at our place. We’ll put him in the back room, he won’t bother you at all. And his apartment will be cleaned up, in a pinch, we’ll rent it out. Passive income will suit you, right?

Adam snorted, completely unhappy with my request to have Grandpa stay with us.

– You’re always sick mom, then my sister’s children to borrow, and now your grandfather wants to live here. Our house is already used as some kind of hostel. And the old people stink too, I don’t want him here. That’s why he has his own apartment. If you want them to monitor his pills, put him in an inpatient facility or talk to his parents and have them take him in.

I didn’t want to tell Adam that I had already decided otherwise. I had made up my mind that Grandpa had to live with us. I nodded to the guy, and the next day I moved Grandpa’s things and pills to our place.

Adam got really mad when he caught my relative in the kitchen in the evening. He threw a tantrum and said that he would never set foot in this house if there was anyone else but us. He kept his word and over the weekend he took some of his stuff and moved back in with his parents. He wasn’t stopped by the fact that we were in a pretty serious and long-term relationship, nor by the fact that in my apartment it would be just the three of us, not like his parents and his sister and the baby at home.

Now my grandfather and I live together, and I kind of hope that Adam will come to his senses and come back sooner or later. I love him, he loves me too, and Grandpa really doesn’t get in the way. He mostly sits in his room, and nothing smells like Adam yelled. I’m really waiting for things to get back to normal.
