I gave birth to my first child when I was 38 and my husband was 50. Now I regret it

On the playground I met a woman who was playing with her child. The girl is 3 years old, but her mother is already 41. That a woman in her age you understand only after looking closely at the face and noticing the wrinkles. She has a good figure, her interests are not at all age-related.

It turned out that the woman is 41, and her husband will soon be 50. Alisa, their daughter’s name, is the first and only child in the family. After giving birth, the woman had an operation that made it impossible to have more children.

During the conversation, the woman admitted that she regretted her late motherhood. It is difficult for her to watch a small child, the baby’s activity quickly leads to fatigue in her mother. There is nothing to talk about her husband, at 50, men are often already grandfathers, and then a small child. My husband does not want to babysit the baby, he does not even go for a walk with her.

I am not an expert in these matters, but I want to share my opinion.

I am against becoming a parent at a mature age. We are gradually moving to a model, in which having your first child at the age of 30-35 is considered normal. Up to this point, all the attention is on the career, and when you are already at work, you can think about heirs.

In theory, everything is not bad, but when in this model, there is time for children? The most active years were devoted to work and earning money, and the upbringing of children and help with grandchildren was relegated to the back burner. For me, children in life are much more important than financial well-being.

In a difficult situation, it’s not money that will come to the rescue, but family. As for me, the family should be young, so that children can see the example of active parents, and not tortured people of age, for whom even going to the playground causes difficulties.

In such families, it is not only the parents who suffer, but also the children. Often schoolchildren are embarrassed by their parents’ age. The chances of sending a child to university and walking to his or her wedding are also not particularly high for parents.

As for me, after crossing the 35-year mark, you need to forget about the children. You should not torture yourself or your future children, so that life does not turn into an excuse to complain on the playground.
