I don’t know how to do the right thing and who to rewrite the apartment to

In my old age my only successor and relative was my granddaughter. She was already a grown-up girl, she had graduated from university and was dating a young guy. There was a time when she used to tell me everything, often visited me, but after she moved in with a young man, she forgot all about me.

In recent months she has been answering my phone calls more and more rarely, on top of everything else, she is constantly busy and has no time to come to see me. Even when I got very sick and couldn’t leave the house to get medicine, my granddaughter just told me to drink tea and “be strong”. It was good that my neighbor from downstairs went to the pharmacy and supermarket for me. She was the one who cooked for me and cleaned my apartment while I was sick. And the other neighbors checked on me. So it turns out that strangers cared about me more than family.

I’m not rich myself, I live modestly, on my pension, and the only thing I could offer my granddaughter was an apartment. But now I’m thinking more and more often, should I?

We haven’t communicated for some time, we’ve become practically strangers. She has her own life, and she’s not really interested in mine. So do I have to bequeath my apartment to her? Not that I have other claimants, but sometimes I think someone else would need it more.
