I did THAT and we got straight on!
“It was the devil” was how Philip justified his betrayal. He loved his wife very much, lived by her. They married for love. Their love never faded, but for some reason, at some point Philip took to cheating. When he returned home afterwards, he was met with complete indifference to his person. He knew his wife would not rush into his arms. She always knew her worth. Philip himself wanted to throw himself at his wife’s feet, but he didn’t – he knew that if he did, he would only hasten the divorce proceedings.
For several days Philip slept on the couch, trying to avoid his wife’s eyes. The wife acted as if Philip did not exist. She cooked for one person, washed only after herself, cleaned only “in her own territory. Philip knew he could not lose his wife, for she was his only soul mate on earth. Philip did not communicate closely with his relatives. He began to make surprises for his wife: he would leave flowers on the table, then sweets, then other gifts. He left rather than gave, because he knew that gifts from his hands were more likely to end up in the trash than in their places.
Slowly, the gifts got results. And when the man began cleaning the entire house on the weekends, something he had never done before, the progress continued at a new pace. One day Phil saw his gift, flowers, in a vase. He was so excited, almost jumping on the spot with happiness. Then there was some domestic talk between the resurgent couple. The housewife thought their wallpaper had worn out. Phil was only too happy about it. Next, the wife began to cook for two, later to clean the whole house without dividing it into “their” and “not their” territories.
One day, coming home from work, Phil found two plates of borscht in the kitchen. He went into the living room to see his wife, while she was there ironing his shirts. Philip went over and hugged his wife from behind. She did not resist, did not throw his hand away, but gently embraced her husband. Philip managed to keep the family together. He still wakes up his wife every day with compliments and gentle hugs, often gives her gifts and spoils her with flowers for no reason. It seems that he has solved the secret of family happiness.
