I didn’t want to take on a friend’s cabin in the country. Who would pay a lot of money for that nowadays? But then I saw the mansions there and was pleasantly surprised.

I have been working as a realtor for many years now. I sell only apartments and in their native city, I do not like to travel far away, but when a good friend, a former classmate, asked for advice and along the way with a job offer, it was somehow impolite to refuse. I did not like the fact that I had to go to some forgotten village. As I drove, I kept wondering who needed those skewed huts nowadays. People either buy or build normal houses in the suburbs, not two hundred kilometers away from the city.

By the time we drove into the village, I was already a little surprised. The houses were actually nice. They all have decent fences, the roofs of the houses shine and look nice and tidy from the outside. On the way to the center of the village, we did not even meet a single grandmother on the bench.

I was interested in the settlement and the approximate cost of such houses. The house of a friend was probably one of the most advantageous and outwardly attractive houses in the area. As it turned out, his lonely uncle lived there, who had rewritten the house to him, and it was a long drive away. The yard was huge, there was a summer kitchen and a stove outside, piles of firewood, a beautifully cleaned shed with racks of books. But the house was gorgeous inside at all. From the color of the tiles in the kitchen to the laminate flooring. Bathroom in the house, hot water from the boiler, all the amenities are present. I myself would not sell such a house. Let it stand as a summer house – a great option, and enough yard to dig out another pool.

In general, I expected a typical village with wooden houses, and got in some wonderful rich place. We put the house at a higher price and it quickly purchased. The friend was very happy, the buyers are happy, and I’m in business.

Now I’m wondering if I should change my specialty a bit and take on houses like this. It’s a pleasure to work in and with them – even to show them to potential buyers. And they cost a pretty penny. I want one for myself right away, and I want to put a bathhouse and grow an apple orchard. Perhaps now I will have a goal of buying a house like that, although I used to dream about city apartments.
