Sarah has been looking for the right one all her life. She has been married twice and believes that this is not the limit, even though she is already sixty. She is a very well-groomed and good-looking woman of Jewish descent. Most of her family and children from her first marriages live in Israel, and she travels around the country for her own pleasure. Nothing embarrasses or scares her, but she keeps trying to find new suitors.
She has not met anyone and told me all the ridiculous dating stories. I am in my fifty-five has never been anything like this, and do not even want to think that one day I can leave my husband and go look for someone else. For what, you ask?
Anyway, Sarah started dating a forty-year-old man not too long ago. He, too, has one marriage under his belt, but at first glance, he is not a bad man. That’s what’s suspicious. Why would a comparative young man with a good job want someone like Sarah? Yes, she pays for him, yes, makes expensive gifts, but it’s still not buying an apartment or a car. And that’s not to say that he’s crazy about her.
The girlfriend likes everything. She feels loved and wanted, and she brags about her young fiancé. They live together in her apartment, go on vacations, go out for romantic dinners. Sara hasn’t said anything yet about getting married – maybe he doesn’t want to get married. But still, for me, their relationship is like some kind of dissonance – it doesn’t fit in my head. Why would they do this? Because they’re comfortable together, or is there another reason Sarah’s not talking about?
