I was late for work, and the bus was running late as luck would have it. There was still traffic waiting on the bridge, and I did not want to be late at all, because the office fined me for it.
I had nothing to do, so I raised my hand and began to catch the car. So I stopped a cab, driven by a man in years. I myself am in years, so I gladly got in and even decided somehow in advance that I would leave him a tip, if he managed to give me a ride to work in time.
On the way, we talked a little bit about the weather forecast – rain was promised – and then about my work. Suddenly I felt it was very stuffy in the car. My tie was pressing on my neck, and my heart was beating faster for some reason. And soon my heart pounded.
I told the driver that it wasn’t a big deal, sometimes nothing was enough, but he took it seriously and drove off the route, heading for the nearest hospital. I didn’t understand why at first, but it turned out that I was already blue, and my tongue felt padded, and I couldn’t say anything.
The man took me to the hospital and handed me over to the doctors. I had a real “heart attack,” and it was no nonsense. If it wasn’t for the help of that kind man, I wouldn’t have made it to work. He literally saved my life and got away without leaving any contacts.
I didn’t pay for the ride and didn’t leave a tip, of course, though now I would have liked to do a lot more. I wish I knew how to find him.
