I’ll give birth to you, but then I’ll put you in an orphanage, since I have nothing to feed you.

– I’m going to have a baby with you,” Monica looked at her beloved and sobbed.
– Stop crying, I have not promised you anything, have an abortion, – the guy openly mocked the girl. – And you thought that I would voluntarily put my head into a lifelong yoke? I’m sorry, but I have to run, I do not have time to listen to your tantrums.

Monica sat on the bench for a long time afterward, wondering what she should do next. They had fallen in love at first sight, but as it turned out, she was just another toy to him. She didn’t even think about having an abortion, because she couldn’t bear the thought of killing a child. Monica gently stroked her tummy.

– Baby, forgive me, but I will give birth to you, and then I will give you to an orphanage. Don’t be offended, because I simply have nothing to feed you. – The girl was making excuses to her unborn child.

Monica’s parents were not concerned about the girl, because their whole life consisted of nothing but drinking and partying. The guardianship authorities repeatedly tried to deprive them of their parental rights. Over time, Monica grew up and everyone lost interest in her. If the girl had not been taken care of by her neighbor Aunt Kate, she would have been homeless. The woman would often take Monica to her house to feed her.

– Honey, why are you sitting here crying? – Aunt Kate, the neighbor, asked her a question. “Come upstairs, let’s go to my place and tell me everything, your father got drunk again. They can’t seem to get drunk. – Her neighbor was in a good mood, as usual, and she smelled of kindness from a mile away.

Monica did not want to shift her problems onto her aunt, so she politely declined her help and went home. She went to her room and fell into a heavy sleep.

When the time came, Monica gave birth to a healthy baby boy, she tried not even to look at him, so it was easier to part with him. Three days later, Monica was discharged from the hospital, and she staggered through the city all alone and no one wanted. If her parents had supported her at least a little, she never in her life would have given up her baby. When Monica was taken to the hospital, her mother only realized that her daughter was pregnant and immediately threw such a tantrum that even the sky was hot. She shouted at the girl that she would not dare bring home the fetched child.

The girl slowly made her way home. The last thing she wanted to see was Aunt Kate, for she was afraid she would interrogate her. And so it happened.

– Monica, I don’t understand. What happened to your stomach? – The aunt had been watching the girl for a long time, but she didn’t want to get into her soul. The moment she saw, weeping Monica slowly weaving home, everything boiled up inside her, as she cared about the fate of her child.
– I gave up on him,” she said to her neighbor with undisguised bitterness, “I have nowhere to take him: I have no place to live and no job.
– Go back to my place,” the aunt forcefully dragged the girl to her house. – Have you gone mad? She’s your little girl! Do you think with your head what you have done? You’re going back now, take the baby and bring him to me. You’re going to live with him! I’ll babysit him, and you study!

Monica couldn’t believe her luck! Her aunt had volunteered to help her, and just a few minutes ago she had thought no one needed her in this life. Monica came right back and took her little boy home with her. As she carried him on the road, she held him so tightly to her that she seemed to be very afraid of losing him.

Aunt had spent her whole life helping Monica raise her baby boy. The neighbor had never had children of her own, and so she always treated Monica’s son as if he were her own grandson. The girl graduated from the institute, got a job and always helped her savior, for she became the closest and dearest person to her.

At the well-groomed and flower-studded grave Monica often visits with her husband and children, and their portrait is always smiling at their beloved grandmother Kate.
