Maria came home from work and noticed that some of her husband’s things were missing. She walked around the apartment and looked to see exactly what was missing. Summer clothes and personal hygiene products were missing. So he had done it after all!
A few months earlier, the couple had planned to go on vacation together. Her husband said that he preferred foreign resorts. Maria supported him in this. She was already asleep and saw herself bathing in the warm sea and walking on a sunny beach.
Everyone had to buy a trip with their own money. Yes, it was strange, but in their family there was a separate budget. Maria was used to it by now. Her husband asked her where she would get the money for a vacation, since she had spent all her savings on the surgery.
Maria understood what her husband was hinting at. Not only that, she asked him to lend her the missing part. At the end of the summer she was supposed to get a bonus, so a woman would quickly pay off with her husband. But he just shrugged and sat down at his computer.
He had a rule – he did not lend money to anyone. But for the sake of the wife he loved, could he make an exception? In all normal families such questions were not even raised, and here… Sometimes she had to beg for money for groceries. Yes, that happened.
Several times she talked to her husband to help her solve her financial problems, but he just kept silent. He told her no one was canceling her vacation. But what did those words mean?
His vacation had begun, and she was alone in the stuffy apartment. She realized that her husband had decided to take a vacation alone, not to spend more money. She was very offended, because her husband did not even warn her, but ran away quietly.
Maria called her mother and told her everything. The elderly woman did not understand how her son-in-law could do such a thing. They had never had anything like that, everything was divided in half. Her mother offered her daughter to come to her for a vacation. Well, what would she do in four walls? She agreed to the offer.
When Maria came home, she learned that her brother and his family were going to the sea. Her sister-in-law suggested that she go with them. She was very pleased. The woman understood that she had chosen the wrong man to be her husband. He did not appreciate her and was not going to sacrifice anything for a future together.
Ten days later, her husband came home and there was nothing there. He also lost his keys, how could he open the door? Thank God her neighbor had a spare one, so they still managed to get into the apartment.
Maria was not at home. On the kitchen table lay a note: “I took things away. Soon a divorce. I hope you had a good rest.”
And then the man regretted his action, but it was too late.
