Let me tell you a story that recently happened to me. I hired a cleaning lady to work in my office. She is a good woman, hardworking, always comes in early and cleans up perfectly in less than an hour. She gets everything done before the first employee arrives.
One day she came to my office to collect her salary. She was dressed well, had great hair. I did not recognize her. When she came in she asked:
– “Is it true that your employees get a discount at the car wash?”
This surprised me. I didn’t quite understand what she needed the discount for, but confirmed it and gave out such a discount for her as well. And told her to come with her family, they will also be covered by her discount, since she is our employee.
You should have seen my surprised, not even so, shock, when she arrived in an expensive Mersedes along with her husband and daughter in no less expensive cars. I could not imagine that she could afford such a thing. Since I was very curious how she bought such an expensive car, I found out that she cleans a total of twenty offices like mine in a day and gets a lot of money per month! Can you imagine?
Now I’m thinking of taking lessons from this woman on running a business.
