We run after something and it runs away from us. But if you wait, it comes back.

My friend Emmy told me her life story, we had only recently met, but her optimism and openness inspired me to trust her. She has had a very tumultuous life. Emma has 4 children, the eldest is 22, the twins are 15, and the youngest daughter is 5. Surprisingly, all the children are from different men, or rather from three different marriages. She divorced her first husband because he was a regular drinker. He did not want to be treated for his obvious addiction. The second one lived at the expense of Emma and her mother. They divorced when she was 32. She worked in a call center for a large company. In general, it was a mess. Later, the first husband did get treatment, their relationship with Emma improved, and she allowed her ex-husband to meet with her own son, and he always helped her financially. The other one disappeared and did not want to communicate with the twins. Emmy has always had a stormy life, she met men from time to time, but there were no serious relationships between them. She met a man on social media.

It was the holiday season and she was planning to go to the seaside. She corresponded with this man and shared her plans. It turned out that the place she was going to was his hometown. They met, had a stormy romance, beautiful nights by the seashore… Eventually, she moved in with him. The twins went to first grade in this city. The relationship with this man did not last long, the move and the marriage were “inconvenient” for him, and they broke up. He left, but Emmy didn’t want to leave. She liked this city and decided to stay there. The eldest son decided to go live with his own father, and Emmy did not object: “If he wants to go, let him go.” Emmy signed up for a dating site to keep her from getting bored. Once again, she had many men, she was not looking for a serious relationship and was just enjoying the moment. And here’s what happened. She met Peter, who was a year younger than her. He was from the same city, where he had been born and lived all his life.

She immediately asked him to meet her. The guy was surprised, it was the first time he had ever met someone like that and then met them right away. They met, started a romance, and got married in 10 months. He didn’t have any children, and Emmy gave birth to his daughter. Now they have their own house, farm, and household. By a lucky break, it turned out that their dreams were closely connected, and the best part is that they never discussed it. Somehow it just worked out. After hearing this story, I realized. You can’t give up. You should always take care of yourself and love yourself. Do not run after men and marriage. Yes, of course, there are often moments of sadness, but they should not become a chronic reason for “life didn’t work out.” And children are not a hindrance. Anyone will love you, accept you, even with a bad character, and with children, and in general, anyone. Love yourself, appreciate life!
