My mother wants me to divorce Mark so she can sign the apartment over to me.

It recently came out that Mark cheated on me when I was pregnant. Our relationship was a little strained at the time, because we weren’t expecting or planning a baby. Mark was still freaking out at the time, we were considering different options, but my mom insisted that I have the baby and she would help me with my grandson or granddaughter. She didn’t cheat – she was there for our family from day one, always on hand.

Mark treated my mother like his own, he loved her very much. He valued our relationship, so he decided to confess when my daughter was seven months old. After the news about the future baby, he was broke, drinking with friends and, he doesn’t know how, but he woke up in the morning in someone else’s bed. The girl wasn’t someone he knew and he ran away, afraid of figuring things out. He was afraid to tell me the truth, he had been suffering all this time, but now he decided to tell me.

I couldn’t keep the truth from my mom. She overheard everything. And how Mark told me, and how he cried to me, and how he was on his knees in our bedroom, begging me not to leave. I wasn’t going to. We have a family, a little kid, where am I gonna go?

He went out once, realized his mistake, and that’s it. Better to do it now, with the understanding that he could lose everything, than later from dislike.

But Mom didn’t see it that way. It was the biggest betrayal for her, she couldn’t even look at Mark now. She walked around for a week, throwing lightning glances at him, and when my husband left for work on Monday, my mother came to me with a proposal and even a demand – to divorce Mark and move into her apartment. For now we can live with her and her daughter in a threesome, and in the future she will leave me the apartment and find somewhere else to go. She hopes that I will meet “my happiness” and everything will be fine.

I don’t know how to tell her that I’m fine. I don’t even think about Mark cheating. He’s turned out to be a good father, he provides for us and takes care of me and my daughter. But that’s not what’s important to my mom right now. She has one thought – Mark cheated on me, which means that we must urgently divorce and move.

I’m afraid if I disobey, she will take offense and stop helping me, and maybe even stop communicating with me. What do I do? How can I find a way out of this situation without losing my husband or maintaining a good relationship with my mother?
