Alice has lived in the dorm since her freshman year. It is not only that there are a lot of girls in the room, you have to take a turn in the shower, and the students next door make noise, but the dormitory is also two hours away from the university – quite inconvenient. In the third year, when Alice got some part-time work, and my mother finally got a permanent job, no longer depending on the pension of their elders, it was decided to find Alice if not a rental apartment, at least a room. It was much better to live with another student or someone else, to share one bathroom for two, at most for three, and to live close to the university.
Alice began searching for ads on the Internet, looking for all the cheaper, and she came across one option, the cost is slightly higher than it was in the dormitory. Apartment two-bedroom, accommodation with a roommate, and very close to the stop, where a direct bus to the two necessary buildings to Alice, and the road, even with traffic congestion will not take more than half an hour. It was ideal, but my mother persuaded me to have a good look at the apartment, to get acquainted with the neighbor beforehand to see what the catch was. And trusting Alice thought that there was no catch, just that someone urgently needed to rent a room.
She made an appointment with a realtor, came to see the apartment, and a seventy-year-old woman was already sitting there. Alice counted on the young neighbor, who would also be busy for days on end and would have a chance to stay at home alone for a while. The old lady herself rented out the room. There was no Internet at home, Alice had to buy her own router and pay for the Internet, the laundry was done only once a fortnight, and the machine was not full, the fridge was only a shelf, and she could not often cook on the stove, because it was old and missed the gas. Realtor still tried to present it in a rosy way, but the rude statements of the owner that Alice did not dare to bring the guys here, and then she knows “such girls,” finally discouraged her from moving in.
– I’d rather see something more expensive, but with normal people,” she told her mother, running from the apartment. – I don’t know who can get along with that woman and her conditions…
