Once when I was a kid I went to an acting class, where I met Max. We stayed there from the age of six until graduation, developing our acting skills and performing on big stages, touring the country and even Europe. Max was a very handsome guy, which made him popular with audiences and teachers alike, he always got the leading roles. But this does not mean that he did not work as hard as everyone else. In high school he attended courses at the university, which was going to enroll, but his parents did not support his desire to become an actor.
Everything worsened when he could not get into a good university, and the actor could take him on a budget only in a small town away from home. His father did not allow him to go and insisted that his son skip that year and instead study mathematics in order to get into programming. His father had connections, he could get him in next year, and Max didn’t want to go there at all. He was sure he would be able to get into theater and film acting in a year.
Secretly from his father a year later he tried both, and surprisingly he was immediately chosen by the master in theater. Programming was out of the question, he enrolled in a theater school, having studied there for less than a semester, when his father went to scold the dean’s office to take his son’s papers. No matter how much Max persuaded him, it didn’t work out and he ended up getting expelled. He lost two years, even though he is a grown boy and is able to decide for himself what he should and should not do.
I have no problem with my parents, they support me in any major and with any hobbies, but if I had it any other way, I still wouldn’t let them tell me what to do. I’d rather move out and cut all ties with my folks than waste so much time trying to sit on two chairs. Max, of course, does not listen to me, but now he is going to go back to two universities and hope that his father will change his mind…
