You naive fool! She hoped that her husband would change and not go out with her anymore.

Now I know for sure that in a family for a normal relationship is important not only love, but also respect. If it is not there, it will not be possible to build a harmonious relationship and a friendly family. Only with respect comes openness, honesty and understanding.

Alas, but in the story of one of our readers all was not so rosy and promising. She decided to share her situation with us.

My relationship with Richard was a lot of things, both good and not so good. At one time we were truly in love. I’ll try to tell you everything in sequence.

At seventeen, when I was dreaming of great achievements, career and Prince Charming, I met my future husband. He was the one. Richard was in his early twenties. We had a great relationship, he understood me from the word go. We went for walks a lot, went to the cinema and cafes. Richard used to bring me flowers and presents. He told me that together we could achieve anything.

And I believed it. I got married at 18. We had a great life at first. But I soon found out he’d cheated on me. I was shocked. I was only 22 years old, and already managed to feel betrayed and not needed. Richard was my first in every way. My parents insisted that I divorce him. My friends tried to convince me to leave him.

But I couldn’t do it without him. We didn’t get a divorce but paused in our relationship. A friend told me I had to have a baby. Then my husband would settle down, feel like a father, the head of the family and be faithful.

I thought it was a great solution. A year went by and we had a son: almost four pounds! A beautiful baby boy! Richard was very happy. He tried to help in everything, and later got a second job. I was happy that my husband took such care of us.

Gradually, however, my husband’s zeal and joy faded. He gave up his second job. Even though we didn’t need anything anyway. We had everything we needed. He was a good father and head of the family.

But things went bad between us again. Richard would come home drunk. He’d bring food and stuff and then leave right away. He spent his evenings with friends. Sometimes they played billiards, bowling, but more often they drank and walked until dawn.

One day he came home completely drunk. With difficulty he got his shoes off and went to sleep in the living room. It was as if he had forgotten about his own family. Soon his phone rang. I never overheard his conversations, but here…

In the middle of the night I could hear every word. He got a call from someone named Samantha. Richard, barely able to move his tongue, began to declare his love for her and to compliment her. He said he’d wire her money tomorrow and that he’d be here soon. Then I heard him snoring.

I took my husband’s phone, transcribed this Samantha’s numbers, read their correspondence and saw her candid photos. Apparently, they have a long and serious relationship. It turned out that they had known each other for over a year. So the situation came out not the most pleasant. The next morning I didn’t say anything to my husband.

I wondered all the time what should I do? What do I do? After all, now I know about the constant mistress of her husband. Make a scandal of Samantha and her parents? To file for divorce? Maybe just wait for my son to grow up a little? Maybe then everything will change for the better? Right now I’m totally dependent on Richard, and I can’t go to work.
