My neighbor works in an ice cream stall. One day some distant relatives came to visit her. A tenth-generation sister and her 8-year-old daughter.
They visited in such a way that Rebecca was shaken for a long time, remembering their visit. They stayed at her place for two weeks, although originally they came for two or three days. You see, a young mother has a bad life alone, so she took advantage of the good-natured hostess.
A neighbor’s stall is just across the street from our house. There’s a metro station and a big shopping center nearby. In general, the location is very good. Here and stayed relatives, until all the affairs were settled.
After they left, Rebecca called me to her place. Such a happy, you can tell at once that they strained her. As it turned out, my friend “helped” them get home. So they were offended, even did not say goodbye.
All this time the guests lived at the expense of the hostess. Little ran every day for ice cream, as if she thought that Rebecca has his own personal factory. And for some reason her mother did not stop her, just smiled and pointed her finger at something more expensive.
Rebecca was silent for a few days and treated her tenth niece, and then her patience snapped. She got angry and shouted at the whole street:
– Aren’t you going to shit yourself, little girl, from so much ice cream?
She bluntly told the little guest that ice cream costs money. She wants one – she takes the money from her mother and comes. Naturally, the girl ran to her mother to complain. And so it came to a logical conclusion – packed their bags and left.
Why my mom thought that the mistress who took them in, will treat them to free ice cream, I do not know. Apparently, there was not even a whiff of discipline or upbringing. I, of course, told Rebecca that she was too strict with the little girl, but overall did the right thing.
My sister tried to roll on Rebecca and other relatives against her, but it did not work. I think the guest’s daughter will always remember that free cheese is only in a mousetrap.
