I have to be honest, I am very jealous of my sister, who is three years older than me. Not that black envy, but still envy, because I would really like to live like her. And not barely survive in our country and wait from paycheck to paycheck.
Samantha, my sister’s name, married at 24. Her husband, Richard, is half German. And right after they got married, they went to live in Germany. Within a couple of years my sister had learned German thoroughly, confirmed her diploma and got a great job in an international German firm.
For 10 years they live happily abroad and do not need anything. Samantha has a large, bright, comfortable apartment, there is a country house, not far from the forest. She and her husband have personal cars and have enough money to spend on whatever you want. They’re always going on vacations and all sorts of resorts.
I married a simple country boy. He’s got a job, middle-class parents, doesn’t even have his own house. We live together with my parents. We have a daughter who is four years old. And every month we endure a lack of money. I sometimes get so tired of it all that I just get hysterical. Why can’t I live like Samantha?
Recently Samantha and her husband came to visit their parents. I did not even expect, but my sister suggested that I come to her family, they will help in everything. And I would have agreed, but my husband said he was against it. Like, why go to a foreign country, you will always be a foreigner there. And his parents are not young, in a couple of years they will need care. He doesn’t even think about our daughter. What future awaits her in a country where everyone exists. I would take my daughter and leave. But that husband – I’d have to get a divorce. But I so want a good, peaceful life.
