Once upon a time, a family I knew had a baby boy. The baby was perfectly healthy, except for one tiny defect. The defect was congenital, and modern medicine easily copes with the elimination of the harelip.However, the parents decided that they did not want such a child. Against all persuasion, the parents decided to give up the baby. Helena cried the whole time, and Robert was sure that giving up the newborn was his legal right.
– We really need a baby, but not this one, a healthy one. If we take this one, we’ll have to give all our time to this one,” Robert told the head doctor when he wrote the waiver form.
It so happened that this particular paper became the key document in the little man’s fate. Within days of being born, the boy had a family, and then his mother and father abandoned him.
Helena was not blamed in the maternity ward; on the contrary, they tried to feel sorry for her. At twenty-five she thought and looked like a child. She had no say in the family, her parents made all the important decisions for her. Helena was sure that this was how it should be, because they were older and wiser, and therefore knew better how to act.
Helena became an adult, but she never learned how to be independent. She could not even buy her own clothes. After she married, everything remained the same, her husband made all the important decisions for her.
The girl never thought about what was going on, but this was a special case…
– She doesn’t understand what’s going on…” said the nursing staff.

Everyone knew it was Robert’s decision, because he alone has the right to make decisions in the family.
– You will never have a normal family, you will always just be fighting. You have to come to your senses and file for divorce. A man should always be a support for a woman! And he will never be a support for you. God forbid, something happens, he’ll leave you immediately. – shared her thoughts with Helena the nurse.
Each of us needs to have confidence in the future, and this can only be given by those closest to us. Without confidence it will be very difficult.
Does Robert not understand that sooner or later his family will fall apart? The boy believes he is making the right decision. Robert has always been the only child in the family, and therefore he has never known denial of anything. He graduated with honors from college and has always been surrounded by female attention. Robert was in no hurry to get married, but after he met Helena, he immediately proposed to her, because she was an ideal candidate for the role of wife: beautiful and obedient.
Was there love between the spouses? Probably, yes. Robert was waiting for the birth of a baby, making plans. He was used to the fact that he was given everything in life easily and simply. He was not used to obstacles, which is why he gave up the baby. At work he reported that his baby had died in childbirth. Everyone sincerely sympathized with the guy.
