We met online, but it turned out that all this time they were walking in the same park and even met more than once.

John never gave up hope of meeting someone sensible and serious on the Internet. A lot of his friends had found their soul mate that way, and John tried. He corresponded with a lot of girls, and then made one date a day. It was kind of costly, because the girls had to be treated to coffee and tea, occasionally taken to the movies and so on, but at first it seemed to pay off and once or twice he was in hope of a relationship, but soon he was rejected for some other guy from the site.

After getting discouraged that it was realistic to meet someone online, he just started texting one girl for no reason, more of a friendship thing. He liked her jokes and the fact that the map made it seem like they didn’t live far from each other. He was afraid to ask her out, and she didn’t dare make the first move either.

One morning John was walking through the park from the store. He had a bag in one hand and a cell phone in the other. He was chatting with this girl. Discussed the weather and also the fact that they both had no light at home. We started to speculate that they might be living next door to each other. John decided to tell her by voicemail, so that it would be quicker and he wouldn’t have to put a packet anywhere. And then he heard the answer right next to him, not on the phone.

The girl from the pictures was walking past him, writing him a return message and smiling from ear to ear. John grabbed Sarah’s shoulder, scaring the hell out of her, then laughed.

– Is it really you? – He couldn’t believe his eyes. – Why are you here?
– Why are you here? I live on the other side of the park, coming from the bakery,” she showed him a bag of fresh baguette to prove it.
– And I’m coming from the juice store.

Together they went for a walk in the park, talked a lot, finished Sara’s baguette and John’s bag of juice. And it was the best date the two of them ever had. Now they go out to the park on dates almost every day, they visit each other, and they move very confidently to the next levels of their love relationship.
