We live well, but my wife can’t get enough. She’s angry that my grandfather’s inheritance didn’t come to us.

My wife works part-time for her own pleasure, but otherwise she’s a homebody. My earnings allow her to sit around and do nothing, and that suits the two of us just fine. Since I am often busy as it is, I want her to be free at least all the time. We live pretty well – we have a two-story apartment, no kids, but we have a dog. We have enough money for everything, we’re certainly not poor. But sometimes I get the feeling that she is like a woman with that trough – everything is not enough for her and she wants more.

I never even claimed my grandfather’s inheritance, because I always thought that everything would go to his only daughter – my mom. And so it happened. But my wife didn’t understand and didn’t accept that.

– I thought you were his favorite grandchild. How could he not leave you anything? How is that human? Family doesn’t do that,” she said.

Even though her family didn’t help us financially at all. She has two more sisters, and if we divide their two-bedroom apartment among the three of them, there’d be nothing left. But that’s not the point. The point is that she feels sorry for this inheritance, which is handled by my parents, not her. I’m sure she would like to make money from the sale of the apartment and rake in more for us, though I don’t understand or share her wishes. Does it offend her that I did not get anything, or does it amuse her when our wealth is multiplied at someone else’s expense? It is obvious that in the future we will get everything from my parents, as I am the only child in the family, and it is unpleasant to hear my wife resenting about my late grandfather – we will have everything in the future anyway.
