There is a woman with whom I once went to the same school. Let her name be Linda. Linda, by the way, won a gold medal. When she finished school, she went to university to study law. Then she decided to get a second degree. She enrolled in something related to trade and management. At that university I met a guy and married him. That guy made good money and did not insist that Linda work either, so she quietly finished her studies.
When Linda graduated from her second university, she never found a job, just stayed home to sit at home. When acquaintances asked her about all this, she answered that she was completely satisfied with her life. She said her husband loved a clean and comfortable home, and she would not be able to provide that if she worked. Her husband gave her money for everything her soul desired: from beauty salons to fitness clubs.
That’s how they lived. From time to time, according to Linda, her husband would say something about how much he wanted a child, but she refused to discuss it. Linda did not want to have a baby at all: she feared for her figure, health, and free time.
The marriage lasted about twelve years, and then the spouse decided to divorce. Linda does not say what it is exactly, and I do not want to speculate. The couple separated and the husband stopped supporting Linda.
Now her father, who still goes to work, pays for her. But the sums are not comparable at all; it’s hard to maintain the lifestyle Linda is used to. And her father keeps hinting that it would be a good idea for her to go to work. A grown woman after all, thirty-five years old.
Linda reached out to the chat room in our class and asked for help in finding a job. One of them owned his own shop in a mall, offered to go to him as a salesgirl. But Linda didn’t like that option. She said that she did not want to trade in garbage with several higher educations.
This is very funny to read. She has no work experience, she graduated from college a long time ago, but her requests are enormous. Aiming for the position of an executive with a large salary.
What do you think? What kind of job can you get if you’re thirty-five and you’ve never worked before?
