She showed up at her mother-in-law’s house with her friend and emptied her fridge without asking

– Are you home? I made some delicious cutlets. Look, with golden crust, so appetizing, they turned out great today.
– I’ve told you many times that we don’t eat fish cutlets. Why did you have to bring them?
– I just cooked a whole mountain of them, I couldn’t eat so many myself, so I decided to bring them here and treat you.

These situations happened very often. She would bring fish meatballs, or baked fish, or even raw fish. We told her a hundred times already, that we don’t eat such fish, but it was as if she didn’t hear us. And so it happens for the reason that her husband (my father-in-law) can not live without fishing. He catches a bucket full of karas, and then my mother-in-law does not know what to do with this stuff.

My spouse says that he can’t even see the karas, and not just eat them. Over the years of living with his father, he had enough of these fish, and now it in the spirit of it can not stand. Now his mother-in-law brings this fish into our house, and in return she takes the food that we used to buy. She comes and opens the fridge and says:

– Oh, is that cheese you have? I’ll cut a piece for me. And that’s some jerked sausage? I’ll also take some, I shared the fish with you.

Then the situation became even more absurd. Mother-in-law began to come with her friend under the pretext that they were walking near our house and froze.

When my mother-in-law came to my house she would go and put the kettle on the stove, open the fridge and put whatever she wanted on the table. On top of that, they were also discussing me. They were indignant that today’s young people don’t cook anything, but buy ready-made meals or use delivery services.

For a month I patiently endured these visits, but then my patience snapped. Since I didn’t want to fight, I came up with a clever way to keep my mother-in-law away from my refrigerator.

The next day I also showed up at her house with a friend. I took the rolls out of the bag and told her it was a treat, even though I know my mother-in-law hates Japanese food.

My mother-in-law looked puzzled. Then I took a pot of soup out of the fridge, put it on the fire, and started heating it up. There were meatballs, and herring under a fur coat in the fridge. I said that I would take half of the salad home, because we love it very much, and we have no time to cook it.

My mother-in-law did not say anything, but she looked at me with obvious dissatisfaction. It was obvious that the only thing that holds her back is the presence of my friend. My friend and I ate, thanked my mother-in-law for the delicious treats, and went home. Almost two months have passed since then. My mother-in-law doesn’t come in anymore, doesn’t bring fish, and doesn’t even look in the fridge. I’m glad that I was able to solve everything without scandals and scolding.
