My family and I live near the sea and the beach is very close. Our neighbor, manages to let in a significant number of guests over the summer, and her place is not so big. The majority of visitors comes with kids, after all the main plus of the Azov sea is that it is very shallow, and the water in it quickly warms up. Also please here and relatively loyal pricing policy. Because of this Rebecca often visits relatives.
I always see the same picture: Rebecca rushes home and pulls bags full of groceries, which she buys herself. She feeds and cleans up after her guests, who sometimes forget to thank her. The guests most often eat and run to the beach. One day I witnessed a situation that took me out of my equilibrium. I did not tell Rebecca that what I saw really angered me, although I really want to talk to her about it.
Rebecca has an eight-year-old daughter who managed to get sick right in the middle of summer. The girl had a high fever, so her mother called an ambulance. The paramedic examined the child and made an appointment, and advised to give the little girl as much fresh fruit as possible and to drink more fluids.
I went to a neighbor’s house to visit and took her herbal concoction for her daughter. At that very moment, my in-laws returned from the beach and brought lots of delicious fruit. All the guests sat down at the kitchen table and waited to be fed. Rebecca quickly set the table and the hungry in-laws quickly ate everything and then began snacking on their fruit, when they ate everything, they immediately went for a walk.
What struck me most was that the in-laws didn’t even offer the lady of the house or her daughter to join them in eating the goodies. I think they knew the little girl was more, since they live in the same house. The guests didn’t even ask how Rebecca’s daughter was doing.
I also had to have guests in my house quite often, I so think that is the punishment of all those who live on the seashore. However, my guests were never so impudent, they cooked and cleaned for themselves and often treated even me. Every time my guests left, they gave me some reasonable gifts, and some even left me money for taking them in.
I don’t know why Rebecca tolerates such boorish treatment of her guests. She can’t tell them directly, she’s probably afraid of offending them, so she tolerates them.
