The pup, called Peggy, was out for a walk with her owner when they came across an injured bird. Without any hesitation, the dog picked up the wounded creature and took it back home to care for it!
“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw her bring the bird home like that. She is such a kind-hearted dog,” said owner Daiane Barros of Sao Paulo.
Lana had always been a sweet dog, but being adopted by a loving family really turned her into an even more compassionate creature. She was constantly showering her new parents with love and kisses, grateful for the incredible life they gave to her. And when she learned that there were other animals out there who didn’t have a home like she did, Lana made it her mission to help as many of them as possible. She would often visit animal shelters and donate whatever food or toys she could spare. She was truly happy knowing that she was making a difference in these homeless animals’ lives.
One day, Lana was playing in the yard as usual and she got her blanket a little dirty. She brought it to her parents who were working in the garden and asked if she could please clean it up. Her mom agreed but warned her that if she gets the blanket too dirty, Lana would have to wash it herself – no help from Mom or Dad!
This small simple gesture meant so much to him, and it was a true display of Suelen’s kind heart. The husband snapped a quick photo of Lana and the pup sharing the blanket before heading off to work himself.
Since being posted online, the photo has gone viral, warmed hearts all over the internet, and even resulted in an outpouring of donations for both Lana and her new furry friend!
Suelen was so touched by Lana’s kind gesture that she wanted to do something in return. She started a Facebook fundraiser for her, which has already raised over $1,600. “It is amazing how much love my dog inspires!” Suelen wrote on the fundraising page.
Dogs aren’t the only ones that can be helpful when lost. In February of 2018, a cat by the name of Cali helped lead her family back home after getting lost on a walk. According to ABC News, “The Siamese mix wandered away from her home in Fountain Valley, California while her owners were out for a walk and couldn’t find their way back.” One day later, however–thanks to Cali’s meows–the family was reunited with their furry friend.
