From the moment they were introduced, Breeze and his teddy have been inseparable. They play together all day long, rolling around in the grass and grazing on hay. The tiny pony even sleeps with his plush friend by his side!

The teddy bear helped the foal feel safe and comfortable, which is why it’s so important for children to have a soft toy to hug at night. Not only does it help them emotionally, but research shows that cuddling up with a furry friend can also improve your sleep quality!

“We’ve never seen one of the animals take such an interest in a toy before,” said volunteer coordinator Laura Chapman. “He’s been carrying it around with him everywhere he goes.”
Breeze has even started sleeping with his new friend, which the volunteers say is definitely good for his development.

“Workers from the sanctuary cut a large hole in the bear’s side and placed Breeze inside. The little pony nestled down and immediately fell into a deep sleep. For the past week, Breeze has refused to leave his surrogate mother’s side, suckling contentedly on her soft plush fur. Staff at the sanctuary say that without this kind-hearted intervention, Breeze would have almost certainly died.”
