Anderson first spotted Bella when she was just a tiny cub, and he knew that he had to help her. And so began an unforgettable friendship between the two of them!
As you can see in these heartwarming videos, Anderson has formed a very special bond with Bella – one that seems to go beyond simply providing food and shelter. He takes care to give her plenty of love and attention, tickling her feet in some scenes for example, and it’s clear that she absolutely adores him back.
Bear cubs can be very playful and curious, just like human kids. This is exactly what Casey wanted to show through his photos and films – that bears are amazing animals worth our admiration and respect.
At the sanctuary, Casey and the other caregivers provide a home for dozens of bears who would otherwise have no chance at survival. The staff works hard to ensure that each bear has plenty of space to roam and play, as well as opportunities to splash in ponds, dig in the dirt, and climb trees. It’s clear from watching these creatures frolic that they are living better lives than they ever could have had in captivity.
Bella knows how to respect Casey’s personal space, and Casey is always very aware of Bella’s boundaries. By establishing this early on in their relationship, they have built a foundation of trust that will continue to grow as they spend more time together.
