When her husband said he was going to go to his mistress, Melissa even helped him pack his things. Made sure he didn’t forget his charger and his phone. And when the door slammed shut behind him, she slid down the wall and howled in pain.
A friend came to rescue her. Melissa was like she was unconscious. Her friend tried to bring her to her senses, but realized that she could not cope by herself – the rest of the landing party joined in.
Seven years of marriage Melissa tried to be a model wife. Alex was her second husband, they met after thirty. They got married and moved in together. They had no children together, and it was probably for the best.
Melissa realized during her first marriage that a wife had to be perfect in every way. If her husband wasn’t happy about something, it was her fault. The first spouse wanted to go back, to make things right, but Melissa was already building a relationship with Alex at the time.
She tried to be the most affectionate, kind and attentive. Her friends said that her husband was on her head, but she just brushed it off and continued to do things her own way. She knew that the image of a wife had to be perfect, lest she be trampled on and abandoned again.
And now he was gone again. All the girls were crying, one friend was silent, and then said:
– Don’t cry, he’ll come back. The first one came back. There’s no more such convenient fools, he’ll play and come crawling home.
The girls hissed, started throwing themselves at her friend, judging her directness, and Melissa whispered:
– Fuck him…
