One day a girl went to her house in high spirits, but she couldn’t get in.

Sometimes it is difficult for children to understand what guides their parents in their actions. Here and Victoria was in a kind of bewilderment, and lack of understanding of the actions of relatives led to a deep resentment.

Victoria met Jake right after graduation. The guy turned out to be hard-working, caring. He was five years older than she, worked as a foreman-technician in a company. He made good money, so he often gave her flowers and nice little things. But then things got ugly and he was fired from his job. Jake was not confused, and tried to earn money wherever he could. The young couple dreamed of having a wedding. They started renting a small room and later an apartment almost immediately after the first month of their romantic relationship. There wasn’t much money, but it was enough for the two of them.

Victoria gradually moved her things out of her parents’ house. She always had the key to her parents’ apartment with her. She didn’t think it was worth bothering her parents every time. Slowly the girl gathered everything she had gained in the ancestral home. It turned out that twenty-five years had accumulated a lot of nice little things. Sometimes Victoria liked to just come home to her family walls and reminisce over a cup of fragrant tea about her childhood. After all, she had grown up in that environment. Everything around was familiar to her, and each thing had its own warm memories associated with it. In addition, it was at her parents’ apartment that Jake proposed to her.

The wedding was played very modestly. Not many people were invited. The festive table was decorated with bottles of champagne, some fruit and sausage sandwiches. Victoria’s parents gave as a gift money. True, the young couple had hoped for a larger sum, but on the part of the guy’s relatives they had to settle for just a kitchen toaster. In spite of everything, the guys lived “heart to heart”. Even though they did not earn much, and the one-room apartment was renovated by their grandmother. They were happy in their little nest and dreamed that someday they would be able to get out of it and get a decent place to live.

A close friend gave them a large portrait of the young couple after their wedding. Since the landlady in the rental apartment forbade defacing the walls, Victoria decided to hang the memento in her room in her parents’ apartment. One day the girl went to her house in a good mood, but she could not get inside. It turned out that her parents had replaced the lock a few days ago, but Victoria had no idea.

After a lengthy phone conversation with her family, the girl rushed to Jake in tears and described in detail all the dissatisfaction that her relatives had expressed to her. According to her mother, Victoria should have always let them know that she wanted to come, not just drop in like the snow on her head without an invitation to someone else’s house. Most of all, the girl was offended by the fact that her mother and father now treated her as an outsider. They said, “Just get married and goodbye. It felt like they were just happy that their own daughter had finally married and started living separately.

Jake’s mother was entirely on the side of the older generation. She, too, believed that it was best to warn her family in advance about a visit, even if it was to her father’s house.

When there were problems with the rented apartment, Victoria asked to live back in her room. True, she had to move with her young spouse. Her parents were adamantly against it. Victoria became doubly uncomfortable, and since then she realized that she was responsible for her own life, and to solve problems should only support her husband. As it turned out, there were no closer people in her life now.

She took everything from her parents’ house and moved with Jake to the other side of the city. The young couple found a small house to rent within the city and began to think about finding work abroad and moving away. Victoria stopped communicating with her mother and father. Apparently in the heart of a fragile girl settled a huge resentment, which may disappear over the years. Victoria was never able to understand her relatives, because she considered their act as a meanness.

Do you think Vika’s parents did a mean and ugly thing to their own daughter?
