This story happened a little over four years ago. When I got married I was sure I had a normal mother-in-law and it was only afterwards that I realized how wrong I was about this woman. That day I realized that my husband’s mother was completely devoid of not only shame and conscience, but even the slightest sense of tact.
When I was in labor, my spouse’s parent kept asking us to let her know when the birth was coming. I complied with her request. We had a long drive, and when we got to the delivery room I was over eight fingers dilated. The doctor examined me and immediately sent me to the delivery room. I don’t know how she did it, but my spouse’s parent got into the delivery room. My mother’s behavior was totally inadequate and she kept demanding that I give birth immediately. Then she started threatening me that if I didn’t give birth immediately she would squeeze the baby out. When the medical staff heard her threats they threw her out of the delivery room.
My mother’s spouse was gone for almost an hour, but when I went into labor she broke into the delivery room again. My head was not thinking clearly, the only thing I remember was that I was in a lot of pain. After my baby was born and they put her on my chest, out of the corner of my eye I saw my husband’s mother holding the phone. At first I thought she was calling my husband, but then I found out that she had filmed the whole process of my baby girl’s birth. I told my mother-in-law to take the video immediately, she agreed without further ado.
A month after the birth we stopped by my husband’s mother’s house to visit with my daughter. When we went into the apartment, we saw some strangers there. Then we found out that they were colleagues from my late father-in-law’s work. A conversation began between us, and then one of the guests said: “You’re a wonderful girl, but you need to get your intimate muscles up to speed, because if you don’t, your husband will leave you.” At first I could not understand what the man meant, but then it suddenly dawned on me that during childbirth I was severely torn and my mother-in-law showed the video of childbirth to strangers.
This antics of my husband’s mother just shocked me, and I threw her a big scandal. My husband managed to delete the video only after he took away my mother’s phone by force. After that quarrel we stopped communicating with my husband’s parent, but my mother-in-law still can’t understand why we were offended at her and claims that it was her first granddaughter and she had every right to do that.
