My husband Sasha and I have lived together for over 20 years. We lived quietly and peacefully. We had a dacha where we went every weekend. Sasha cleaned the apartment and I cooked. I thought we’d live like this until we were very old. And then suddenly Sasha broke the news to me:
– Natasha, I’m sorry. I’m leaving you. I met another woman and fell in love with her very much!
Of course, in my 38 years, I was not a fool. I could see perfectly well that my husband had another woman. I tried not to make a tragedy out of it. I thought that Sasha would never leave me. “Kind” acquaintances often even sent me pictures of Sasha with his mistress. But I tolerated it. And then Sasha suddenly said that he was leaving me. For me it was a complete surprise.
It was good that at least our daughter was resting with her friends at the sea at that time. To make me feel better, I told my friends that my husband had left me.
We gathered a women’s council. One friend advised me to lose weight and find yourself another man. Another friend advised me to immediately go to my grandmother and bring her husband back. The third friend immediately advised me to find a new man.
And Masha said:
– And you live the way you lived! It will be easier!
– But I can’t live like that! It hurts me so much!
– And you have to! In time, the pain will pass. Believe me. I’ve been through three divorces. You clean the apartment, cook, go to work, watch movies, and read books.
– But who am I going to cook for?
– Who for? For us! We’ll come to you every night and eat everything you cook!
I thanked my friends for their advice. But for a long time I could not decide: which advice to follow?
In the end, I decided to go to my grandmother first. I took a picture of my husband and his mistress. Fortune-teller spread the cards, held a ritual and said that her husband would return to me in two weeks.
But he did not come back in two weeks, nor did he come back in a month. And at the same time I gave the woman half of my monthly salary. I was very lonely and sad without my husband. And then I started buying cakes and pastries in the store in large quantities. After two weeks I weighed myself and realized that this could not go on. I gained 7 kilos at once.
Then I decided to act differently. I made a general cleaning in the house, washed everything to shine, replanted the flowers, rearranged all the furniture. My apartment was so cozy and beautiful! And I also signed up for dancing: I had to somehow lose weight after the huge amount of cakes and pastries I ate. Every day I made soup, which my husband loved so much. And then my girlfriends would come running to me and eat it all up. When they left, I would watch the show, Game of Thrones.
Sasha and I had heard a lot about it, but we never had time to watch it. I really liked this movie. I enjoyed watching it in the evenings. And then one evening, suddenly the door opened. Sasha came into the room. He saw how clean and beautiful my place was. The apartment smelled like his favorite green borscht. And I was quietly sitting on the sofa watching a TV series.
– Natasha, good evening. I came to pick up the things I didn’t pick up last time.
– Yes, of course! I’ve already folded them! Do you have a bag?
– No!
– Okay, I do!
I folded Sasha’s things and handed him the bag.
– Did you make green borscht?
– Yes, I did! Are you hungry? Do you want some borscht?
Sasha thought for a minute, then nodded his head.
I poured him some borscht. Sasha ate two plates. And then he said:
– Well, thank you, Natasha! I’m going!
– Go! And I still have to watch this episode!
– What are you watching?
– “Game of Thrones.”
– And we once wanted, remember, to watch this movie together? – Sasha asked sadly.
– I remember! – I answered.
Then Sasha left. I cried for a while, then I watched the rest of the movie and went to bed. Two weeks later, Sasha came to me with all his things. I looked at him and didn’t understand what was going on.
– Natasha, I’m sorry! I love you so much! I love your soup and borscht, your cozy apartment. Forgive me, forgive me, I’m sorry that I’ve strayed from your young body.
– So you missed my borscht?
– I miss everything! But first of all, I missed you!
– All right! Come on in.
– I’m so ashamed of you and our daughter. You won’t say anything to her?
– All right, I won’t. You want some dinner?
– I will. Thank you very much.
