My mother-in-law is getting really cocky, so I refused to help her.

My husband Robert and I have been married for two years. Robert was born in the village and his parents still live there. They have a very large vegetable garden and a very large farm. My Robert is very good, but he listens to his mother in everything. I also have a mother. She lives almost the whole year at the dacha. She only comes back to live in the city in winter.

My mother-in-law demands that we help them all the time. I do not mind, but I also want to help my mother. So sometimes we go to my mom’s house. And then my mother-in-law gets very offended at us. My husband’s parents don’t live by themselves, they live with their daughter and her husband. Kind of have someone to help them.

So one day we went to my mother-in-law’s house. In the morning she woke me up at five in the morning and made me go with her to the cow. I thought I was going to milk the cow. And my mother-in-law made me clean in the barn. I asked:

– Why do I have to do it and not my husband or your son-in-law?
– My son should be at our house resting! After all, he works for your mother! And my son-in-law is already tired at his job!

So I’m the only one who’s lazy.
– Is it all right that we take everything from my mother’s dacha? And vegetables and fruit! You don’t give us anything! We once asked you for meat and eggs. And you didn’t give us anything! You said you had to do it yourself! And then you go to the market and sell everything there! – I didn’t say nothing.

I cleaned the barn and then I wanted to rest. But my mother-in-law wouldn’t let me. She demanded that I clean the house and make breakfast for the whole family. And her daughter was still asleep.

Of course, I got very angry. I got in my car and drove away. And my husband didn’t arrive until Sunday. He said he was going to divorce me. It turns out that my words and actions I did a lot of damage to his mother. I did not hold her husband, though much I love him. The next weekend I went to my mother’s dacha, and my husband stayed home.

But when I came back, my husband changed his mind. It turns out he finally realized that his parents were just using him and that his sister and her husband didn’t want to help their parents. My mom never demands help from us, but always shares everything with us. I was a little bit offended at my husband, but then I forgave him anyway: after all, he chose me over his mother. My mother-in-law called me later and started yelling at me. And I just turned off the phone.

The main thing is that my husband and I will not divorce. And let my mother-in-law do whatever she wants with her big garden and her household.
