My ex-wife came to live with someone else’s child

I was coming home and my ex-wife was sitting on the steps. She was holding the baby in her arms and crying. I didn’t understand what was going on. The woman fell at my feet. She asked me to let her live with her. I felt sorry for her. I let her into my apartment.

We had a bad breakup. My ex-wife wouldn’t give me my things. She tore my passport and broke my phone. Told all our friends what a bastard I was.

I calmed her down, gave her some tea. She came to in an hour. Turns out she got married for the second time. Lived well with her husband. He carried her in his arms. Would’ve lived and lived, but her ex cheated on her husband. Unintentionally, she says. She was out with her girlfriends at a club. She drank too much alcohol and cheated on him with the first man she met.

The ex got pregnant. She never thought about the occasional lover. She thought the baby was her husband’s. But no. He couldn’t have children. Her husband understood and threw her out.

The ex came to see her mother. Her mother is not a rich woman. She lives in a one-room apartment on a small salary. The woman refused to pull her daughter and granddaughter. Threw them out the door. The ex had nowhere to go. She remembered me as her last hope. I agreed to help.

– You come home on time. You don’t go clubbing, you don’t hang out with your girlfriends. Understand?

The ex nodded her head vigorously. She promised to comply with all the requirements. I had little faith in her.

Much to my surprise, the ex turned out to be a wonderful hostess and loving mother. She took on all the female responsibilities, although I did not ask for it. She went for walks only with my daughter. She didn’t bring anyone and didn’t disappear on her own.

When the girl was a year old, my ex got a job as a clerk in a grocery store. She sincerely loved her daughter. She devoted all her free time to her.

During that year, there were some feelings between us. I did not pay attention to them. I looked at my ex a different way. She noticed that, but she didn’t press me. A year ago, I would have thought it was only temporary. Now I see the person is completely different. No longer the scandalous woman who was always drinking.

I thought for a long time about our relationship. We live in the same apartment, we share money equally, we raise a child together. The girl thinks I am her father. When she said “daddy,” I melted. I didn’t think being a father would be that fulfilling.

I made up my mind. Proposed again to my ex. She said yes. Now we have a real family. I hope we will always be happy.
