Monica begged for her baby for six years, then just left him in the maternity hospital

I have a cousin, Monica. She is 40, has two failed marriages and no children under her belt. She works, lives in a rented apartment, and seems to have been quite happy. She was. Six years ago, apparently realizing that the clock started ticking at double speed, she decided to have a baby. At that time her husband supported the idea, but there was no way she could get pregnant. Because of constant scandals and recriminations, the marriage fell apart. But Monica did not stop it, her desire to have a baby turned into a manic idea. She did not want to get pregnant by anyone else, so casual relationships were immediately ruled out.

Men who started relationships with her ran away as soon as they found out about her desire to get pregnant. So she turned to medicine. Several IVF attempts were made, but to no avail. A couple of years ago Monica became religious, going to church, praying, visiting holy places, and remembering to try again and again to get pregnant through IVF. I spent a lot of money on that. And then, finally, it worked!

She trumpeted her successful attempt to everyone! Monica was very worried about herself and the baby, so she spent the entire pregnancy either in the hospital under close supervision of doctors, or at home. She went to live with her mother. She was expecting a girl, bought all the best things, and was preparing to become a mother.

It was about time to give birth and she was left at the maternity hospital until delivery. Monica gave birth, I called to congratulate her and ask when she would be discharged. She replied dryly that she would be discharged alone, without her daughter. I didn’t ask her about it, I decided to ask my aunt. She confirmed that the baby Monica was leaving at the maternity hospital, she had already written a refusal. They didn’t tell me the reason. A week later Monica returned home, sold all her things and began to live as before, she did not think about her daughter. I kept thinking what was the reason! No, the girl was perfectly healthy, so said her aunt, the living space allowed them to live together, there was enough money too, what was the reason then? Monica didn’t answer.

Now my sister is living her own life, she is working, renting an apartment, she is with some man, she doesn’t talk about the girl and she stops any attempts to talk. And it is very hard for me to feel that my little niece is alone at the orphanage. I only hope that she will find good parents who need her.
