Brian had only known his mother since he was a baby. She was always there for him. And he had no one else. His father had left his mother before he was born. It was evening. Little Brian promised that he would be brave and wait for his mother to return.
Little Brian promised that he would be brave and wait for Mommy to return.
An hour, two hours passed, and still no mom. The boy, who was only five years old, cried and went to the bedroom just in case to see if mom was there. But she wasn’t in the bedroom. And the shoes she had left in were also gone.
Fear began to set in Brian, and he cried again. And so he fell asleep.
He woke up to the sun’s rays that were shining down on his crib. The child got up and went in search of his mother again. The boy did not go to his neighbor’s house. For, according to his mother, a naughty uncle lived there who was always drunk. And who liked to fight. Brian was afraid of him.
The boy went outside. He hoped to find his mother there. Passers-by didn’t pay any attention to the little boy. The child got tired of his search and sat down on a bench. An old woman was sitting on it. The child sat down, and the tears flowed on their own. The old woman looked at the child and asked what had happened.
Go home,” she said, as she thought the boy was just being naughty, and gave him an apple. The child did not stop searching any further. The adults who came his way were not interested in him. Everyone was busy doing their own things.
In the end, Brian was extremely tired and fell asleep in the park. Evening came. The child was cold and hungry. Someone called the police. That’s how Brian ended up at the police station. And then they took him somewhere and put him in the hands of an aunt.
– I want my mother! – Brian cried again, hoping that he would see her now. But in the room where he was taken there was no mother.
Another aunt came and brought clothes and helped him change. Then she took him by the hand and led him somewhere. So he found himself among children just like him. The boy leaned against the wall and stood like that for a long time, in a daze. He realized that his mother was somewhere far, far away, and she would probably never come to him.
P.S. Mom was run over by a car and died in the evening when she left the house.
