Meet Freddy, he’s over 7-feet tall and is the biggest dog in the world

Freddy started out as a normal-sized Great Dane puppy, but at just 18 months old he started to grow REALLY fast. By the time Freddy turned 2 years old, he weighed an astonishing 230 pounds and was almost 7 feet tall! His owners had to start buying him XL dog clothes and equipment so that Freddy would have something to wear and somewhere to sleep comfortably. But even with all of the extra gear, Freddie is still always getting into something or knocking something over because of his size!

Despite being so big, however, Freddy is actually really gentle and loves playing with kids. In fact, one day when his owners were taking him for a walk around their neighborhood they ran into some kids who were walking home from school. The kids were terrified of this huge dog barreling towards them, until they saw how friendly Freddy was – then they couldn’t get enough petting!

“He doesn’t realize how big he is and thinks he’s a lap dog. He loves people and gets along with other dogs, too – he just likes to play rough,” Claire told The Dodo.

Freddy is a labrador retriever mix who was found as a stray and ended up in an animal shelter. When he arrived at the shelter, it was clear that Freddy had been neglected for quite some time – his coat was matted and full of ticks, he was underweight and generally unhealthy. However, despite all of this, the volunteers at the shelter noticed one very special thing about him: Freddy loved people unconditionally.

It would be hard to believe that something like this is even possible if you didn’t see it with your own eyes!
