I reproached my spouse for living in my apartment. One weekend he packed up and left.

My family and I recently went to the countryside and heard an interesting story there. Here it is. There is Victoria, Peter’s ex-wife. Their marriage lasted more than twenty years. I don’t know all the nuances of their life, only what the locals told me.

After the wedding, Victoria’s mother and father gave the young family an apartment. At the time, Peter worked in furniture manufacturing, and Victoria worked in administration. The salaries were not bad, there was enough money for everything. Peter knew how to work with his hands, did everything in the new house.

They had only one child, a son. With not the best and pleasant character: harmful and too sure of himself. His mother always let him do everything, and his father tried to forbid him. As a result, the parents fought all the time. Peter insisted that his son should grow up to be independent and responsible.

While Yegor was very young, his father tried to teach him to work. Peter argued that anyone should be able to work with his hands and solve everyday problems, such as repairs. At first his son was interested in this, but then his interest faded.

Victoria, on the other hand, chose a different approach to upbringing. She told Yegor that he does not have to do anything himself, that physical labor – it is not for him. Constantly giving him something expensive. This led to the fact that my son became lazy and got used to the fact that he got everything for nothing.

All this had a very negative effect on the relationship between the spouses. Peter and Victoria were constantly fighting. Meanwhile, Yegor finished school and went to university. His parents paid for his education, but his son did not love his studies and his grades were quite low.

– And who do we have here? He doesn’t want anything at all! And he’s satisfied with having everything done for him. Why don’t you get him a job, too? Oh, no. Let him stay on your back. That’s better! – Peter scolded me.
– Why just me? He’s your kid, too.
– He’s not a kid anymore, he’ll be 18 in a few months! He’s a grown man. Let him make his own way in life. I warned you, but you never listened to me. I would have raised a man out of him. But you wouldn’t let me. And who did you end up raising?
– Are you happy with your life? You’ve been living in my apartment for years! And you still haven’t bought your own. No desire, then. Not a bad job, and you’re waving your rights! I’ll have a man like that telling me how to raise my son properly.
– That’s what we’re talking about now! I didn’t think you’d ever start blaming me for the apartment. I’ll tell you what, my darling. We got the keys as a wedding present. And I was sure it was meant for both of us! I put so much effort into it, I tried. And how well it turned out. Not everyone has such a nice place to live. And you say such things? I didn’t expect that at all!

Victoria sighed and left the room. After this quarrel, their relationship finally went downhill. Yegor agreed with his mother and did not respond when his father asked him for help. All the time he was inventing some business that he was busy with. Peter realized that his family didn’t need him anymore.

One weekend he packed up and left. It turned out that he had been putting money aside all his life, planning to buy a house. Dreamed of a peaceful old age with Victoria, the river nearby. So Peter settled in our village. It took him a few months to finish the house. And met a new woman – a widow named Elena. Two years passed. The couple started living together.

What do the ex-wife and Yegor do? They never once contacted Peter, never even called. It happens in life.
