I realized I wasn’t needed now. The child grew up and I was recycled.

I always thought I had every right to buy my nephew all kinds of gifts. Here’s even like let’s say the other day, I went in and bought him a brand new case for his favorite tablet.

Sometimes my nephew spends his days at my place. I’m still freelance and I’m home 24 hours a day anyway. But sometimes his parents, my brother in particular, leaves his offspring in my care. Especially since he and his wife work day and night. That’s all right, because I love my nephew, and why not?

The kid was already in his seventh year, so I could take him for a walk in the neighborhood park without too much trouble. It is fair to say that he spent a lot more time at my house than he did at his folks’ house. We did gymnastics with him, solved problems with his homework. We spent a lot of time together.

That was when I wasn’t stuck in front of my old laptop screen. Once, on the way home from school and went to the store, where I bought for him a new game, and it seems something of things – I do not remember now.

After events like that, it was probably his mother who admired him more than the boy himself. And, most importantly, on top of everything else we bought a new charger for his phone instead of the broken one.

And here is where the big trouble arose, as it turned out my husband’s wife personally broke his charger. And all because she was very worried about the mental state of her son. After all, all his free time he spent on different games and watching his bad, as she thought, cartoons.

As soon as she saw this charger, she pounced and snatched it out of the child’s hands. And just from the doorstep yelled at me for this gift. After that she just straightened up and started talking all kinds of nonsense in my direction.

Of course, I’m not the kind of person who will stand still and listen to all kinds of bitchy women. I just nodded silently, turned around, and walked away. I went and thought that she would come to me and apologize for her words. But only a few hours later, in the evening, I got a call from my brother.

What he said was a huge shock to me, as it turned out, his wife was very concerned about me and the boy getting closer, and thought that we should limit our communication. They were afraid for the fact that he was very attached to me.

It meant that we would no longer be able to spend time with my nephew alone, no me in the apartment, not outside the apartment. And that’s already a problem, because we live next door to each other.

I don’t even know how he and his wife imagine all this. Do they really think that when my nephew comes and knocks on my door, I will ignore him for nothing, or how in general? What if he’s somewhere in transportation or something on the street? It’s an incredibly small town, so the likelihood of our meeting is very high.

That just sounds crazy to me. Or should I sit under a bush somewhere and hide from him? So my daughter and I are walking through the park one day, and we see this…
And there’s a boy running towards us, and behind him, his mama’s looking sharp. Ran up to us and pulled the child in the direction of the house. And the boy wanted just to say hello to me. So what’s wrong with that?

And then my brother decided to piss me off. He calls me and tells me, like, go somewhere else. It’s not right to meet like this in broad daylight. in broad daylight. He’s in the middle of nowhere, telling me where I’m supposed to go out with my daughter.

So when I came home from my walk, and finally waited for my husband from work. I left our baby in his custody, and I went for a debriefing with my brother.

I decided to take the first step toward reconciliation, and I offered not to share the baby between us. Why should he start suffering because of us at such an early age.

Next thing you know, my brother’s wife is jealous of what that I’m constantly hearing flattering comments in my house about my son me. My aunt bought me this and then bought me that, went to the zoo and played a game on her computer, and you know what my aunt and I… And so on and so forth.

This is understandable her attacks of jealousy, on the one hand, because in reality no one knows how I felt, if I was in her place. But I am not going to do everything the way they decided either, and I do not want to leave my nephew. So we have to look for a compromise.

But alas, no matter how hard I tried, even to the point of grief, and what is not like me at all – almost to the point of tears. Except that we have not come to anything common with them. A couple of weeks later, I accidentally found out that my brother had decided to sell his apartment.

I was really shocked. It was probably because of our differences, as I don’t think it was just, trivial coincidence. And it made me extremely sad. I mean, I should be, because I was so attached to him.
