– Here I found my in-laws. My husband is good, but his relatives! He himself is from the village, he came to the city to study. Soon all his relatives also began to move to the city: some for permanent residence, some to earn money, – says Sara.
Sara got married last year. Her husband is a good, understanding and kind man. He works at a prestigious company and earns good money. Sara works with him in the same firm, so they are almost always together. They live modestly, saving for repairs, big purchases and travel.
– This is my apartment, but I did not do the repairs myself. And after we got married, David and I decided to do a complete real estate upgrade. We insulated, changed plumbing and electrics, invested in the finishing – says the girl.
They lived well until the relatives of her husband began to visit. Her uncle for two days or her aunt for a week. My niece also came and stayed for a month because there was no room for her in the dormitory.
– They made a thoroughfare out of the apartment. We had a small two-bedroom apartment!
Although the young couple was going on vacation, they did not dare, because Sarah did not want to leave the keys to her relatives.
More recently, sister-in-law came to visit them with the children. For a week she sat on their necks and did not hurry anywhere. The newlyweds slept in the kitchen, because they have the same sofa. They wouldn’t put the kids on the floor!
– I cooked for the whole troop, and I was up all night getting things in order. No one even moves – everyone is used to being satisfied with cooked food. I warned my husband as soon as I got pregnant, no relatives. I’m sick of cleaning up after other people’s messes. I’m squeamish. They do not even flush the toilet, as they are not used to civilization – says Sarah.
Quite recently Sara found out she was pregnant. David immediately warned her relatives, that the shop is closed. He was also tired of living like a train station, because he and his wife had already forgotten when they were alone.
– It was my daughter-in-law who set him up. Now my son is away from his family. We were thinking of sending our youngest son to live with them. What would he do in the country? They said no! His own brother will be crammed into the dormitory. Shame on you! – My mother-in-law wailed.
Relatives only nodded. They say they got out of the village and became very businesslike. How hard can it be to help your own? In the village, it is easier: if you want – live as long as you want.
– It seems to me, they won’t even let me visit my grandchildren, because they have repairs. You can’t put cups on the table, you have to take coasters. My daughter-in-law doesn’t allow me to wash my hands in the kitchen either, and she forbids my husband to smoke at all,” complains David’s mother.
Who is right? It is impossible to shelter all relatives in a city two-bedroom, and in general, David has no right to dispose of real estate. What do you think, is Sara cheeky or a relative?
