I’m not going to eat that crap…

– Robert, when are you going to introduce us to your girlfriend? – Grandma asked her grandson a question during dinner.
– I haven’t thought about it yet, we don’t know each other well enough to get acquainted with our parents.

Robert had been dating Elizabeth for more than three months. The girl looked very effective: she was graceful, with delightful slightly slanting eyes and a swan neck. Looking at her gave the impression that she had come to us from a parallel world. She looked mysterious and unrealistically beautiful. She was a closed book to him, which he really wanted to read, but he could not do it.

Elizabeth was a music student and Robert was a law student. They met at a student party. The girl was sadly sitting on the sidelines, as she had just recently broken up with her boyfriend. A friendship began between the two young people. They went to cafes and cinemas together and also took walks in the park. Every time at the cafe the girl ordered nothing but tea and cake. The boy did not pay any attention to this, he thought she was just shy.

– What’s there to look at, come and meet her tomorrow, that’s all,” said Granny.

It was useless to argue with her grandmother, and Robert invited Elizabeth to his house for a visit. Everyone immediately liked the girl, because she was very beautiful, modest and sophisticated. Everyone sat together and had tea, and then Robert took Elizabeth home.

The next time Robert invited Elizabeth to his house for his birthday. In addition to the girl, he invited a few other friends and their friends. Her mother and grandmother laid a sumptuous table, and all the guests ate their treats with the exception of Elizabeth. When Robert asked his sweetheart what she should have, she made a grimace and answered:

– I will not eat such crap.

There was an awkward silence at the table. No one would argue that everyone has their own taste preferences, but so talk about food as a guest at least not decent. Robert blushed slightly and replied:

– Why are you so, because my mother and grandmother tried…
– And what does it matter to me, I’m not going to eat it, – said the girl.
– And what kind of food would you eat? – Robert’s friend asked her a question.

Elizabeth did not answer and tension hung over her. Elizabeth made an attempt to explain:
– I do not eat fat and fried food, and especially salads with mayonnaise. It’s so disgusting…
– I understand,” Robert told her and stood up. – Get up, I’ll take you home. You guys stay here, I’ll be right back…

Elizabeth looked at Robert with amazed eyes. She did not understand why his friends refused to listen to a lecture about the dangers of fat and fried food.

– You see, I can’t eat those things, Elizabeth tried to justify herself.
– I get it. – said the ex-boyfriend. – It’s what I eat, my friends and my family. If you do not eat it, it does not give you the right to behave so at the table, especially since it’s all my mother and grandmother cooked. You have offended them with your words!
– I did not say anything like that? – Elizabeth was surprised.
– I’m sorry that you can’t understand that,” the boy replied.

Robert called a cab sent the girl home, as she and him in different directions, because he had not learned to eat only marshmallows and go to the toilet violets …
