When my son brought his girlfriend to meet us, Karina seemed like a very nice and modest girl, but for some reason, despite this, she repulsed me. During the time she was with us she told us a lot about herself. The future daughter-in-law’s story made me wary, I was surprised to find out that the young girl knew about everything and everyone from her neighbors to her closest friends.
I thought at the time, I wondered what kind of life one has, maybe the girl was overanxious, that’s why she was so frank. I decided then that we’ll live and see what it really is.
A couple of months after we met her she and her son got married. My daughter-in-law was only invited by her mother and two of her friends. This limited number of guests also seemed a little strange to me, because according to my daughter-in-law, she also had an older brother and a lot of relatives. I didn’t quite understand why they weren’t invited. My daughter-in-law’s dad wasn’t there either.
I only found out after a while that the girl’s father hadn’t even been invited. Her father left her mother-in-law when Karina was a little over five years old. The daughter-in-law’s mother did not allow her father to see her daughter, even though he paid her alimony. Well, a strange family is a mystery, I decided.
After we got married, the kids started living with us. We have a big apartment, so there was plenty of room for everyone. I was at work all the time, and I didn’t get involved in the young couple’s relationship.
I realized right away that my daughter-in-law wasn’t accustomed to work, she didn’t even know how to wash dishes. I didn’t insist that she clean the whole apartment, but at least she should have cleaned her room. When I came back from business trips, there were piles of dishes in the kitchen and crumbs lying all over the apartment. There was no time to do anything, and I was tired and began to clean up.
My daughter-in-law always said she didn’t have time to clean, and then she sat down next to me and started to tell me all the gossip about her acquaintances. Karina never even tried to help me with household chores, she could only sit next to me and make everyone’s bones.
When I came back from a business trip, I could not imagine what I had to do to turn my apartment into such a pigsty. I couldn’t stand it and told my son everything. I told him at the time that if his wife doesn’t want to clean and he can’t make her do it, then let him do it.
One day a neighbor stopped me and started telling me what dirt my daughter-in-law was throwing at me. She tells everyone that I am a real snake, and all the time I pester her with nagging and reproaches, and she poor thing, I have as a servant, from morning till morning works to keep the apartment in order. Yes, and she discussed my son, called him a dullard and a rascal.
I didn’t like listening to all that. When I came home, I called my daughter-in-law and son into the kitchen, because I wanted to talk to them. My daughter-in-law immediately started denying me, and then she started screaming that I didn’t like her right away, that’s why I was bothering her with my nagging, and then she cried and ran to pack her things. My son thought about it, but he didn’t stop his wife.
My daughter-in-law has been living with my sister-in-law for more than two weeks now, and my house is now in order all the time. My son runs to his wife from time to time. I told him right away that if he gets together with her, then let them live wherever they want, but I won’t even let her on my doorstep. I work hard and I’m very tired, so I’m not going to babysit a big-headed girl and be her servant.
I don’t want her in my house after the way my daughter-in-law made me feel so bad and keeps slinging slop at me. Now I think I understand why her brother-in-law and daughter-in-law don’t talk to her.
