I want to tell you that I made a big mistake and now I just don’t know what to do. I have a daughter, Helena. She promised to take care of me, and now she is looking forward to my death. I just don’t know what to do. I just made a big mistake a few years ago. My daughter talked me into selling her apartment. My daughter also sold her apartment. We put the money together and bought a two-bedroom apartment that we all live in together now: me, my daughter, and my granddaughter Victoria.
Now both my daughter and granddaughter pretend that I don’t exist at all. And I am very offended. After all, I raised my daughter alone since she was two years old, after my husband died in an accident at the plant. When Helena was in her second year at university, she became pregnant. But she didn’t give up her studies. Helena gave birth to Victoria and gave her to me. And Helena took care of her personal life. And I took care of my granddaughter. Helena had no part in raising Victoria.
Then Victoria grew up, went to college. So when my daughter broke up with her boyfriend she persuaded me to sell her apartment and buy us a two-room apartment.
I had already had a lot of illnesses, and I decided that I would be better off if I lived with my daughter and granddaughter. But I was wrong. I can sit half the day in my room, and neither my daughter nor my granddaughter will come in and ask me how I am feeling. Very often my daughter invites guests into the house and sets the table. They never even call me.
And I give my daughter all of my pension. My daughter does not even congratulate me on the holidays and never gives me anything. And recently my daughter found a new boyfriend and brought him to live with us. He behaves in our apartment as if he were at home. Victoria is always spending time with her friends or studying. Victoria and Helena don’t talk to me at all.
A few days ago it was my birthday. I made a delicious dinner and baked a cake. And Helena and Victoria didn’t even congratulate me. They just forgot that it was my birthday. That’s how I feel alone, unwanted and a complete stranger among my family. How painful and hurtful it is for me! I just don’t know what I can do to change it…
