They say establishments should have proper service to keep people coming back more than once. But as it turned out in practice, not all establishments care much about it. My story will tell you about how I went to a restaurant.
I decided to do something nice for myself and instead of going home tired and waiting another half an hour, I ordered a meal in a restaurant and quietly went home already stuffed.
I went to the restaurant, had a meal, everything was cooked normally, not very tasty, but never mind. I called the restaurant attendant and asked about the bill. The bill was not a small amount. All right, I think. I looked in my wallet, and there was a lot of change – I thought to myself, why should I leave it lying around in my wallet? I also had a large bill – I did not want to change it. In general, I put the money and was about to leave. But at the entrance was caught by a waiter, holding the money I left.
-What did you bet? – The waiter arrogantly asked.
-How what?! I paid for my lunch! – I answered in surprise.
– So there is no need to pay. Give me normal bills, and a tip, why didn’t you pay?
-Wait a minute, dear, what was the money – that’s what I gave. I paid. And the tip, that’s the first time I ever heard a garçon ask for it. If I wanted to, I’d have tipped them.
-I understand, but without your tip I won’t make any money today.
-What am I supposed to do then? -What am I supposed to do? What if I gave you a tip in pennies? Would you take it?
-Sure. But pay for your lunch with bills, or I’ll take it from the manager.
Insolence or naivety – what was that garçon’s motive?!
