It seems that the people from Kentucky really think so! Horse owners in this US state gather every year to compete in a “Best Dressed Horse” contest, and the results are always pretty amazing. From colorful costumes to elegant suits, these horses look like they just stepped out of a fashion show runway. The horse, named Obviously, is a three-year old chestnut thoroughbred who has already won four races in his career. When he lines up for the William Hill St Leger at Doncaster racecourse this Saturday, September 9th, he’ll be sporting an outfit made specifically for him by the famous British bookmaker.
Obviously will be wearing a navy blue tailored suit with red and white stripes on the sides of his jacket and along his trouser legs. The look is completed with a silk tie and smart black shoes – not to mention that gleaming coat of hair!
The suit was made by a team at Derby Tweed, who used traditional methods to make the fabric and tailor all three pieces specifically for a horse’s body. The jacket features deep pockets that can be filled with carrots or apples, while the waistcoat has shiny brass buttons and adjustable straps to ensure it fits perfectly. Finally, there’s also a matching tweed hat which can keep the Horse’s head warm on those chilly days out in pasture!
