As they got closer, the team could see that it was a deer and it was definitely stuck. The poor animal had its head caught in between two of the train’s rails and there wasn’t much time left before a train would arrive. Reid and his colleagues began formulating a plan on how to save the deer as quickly as possible without getting injured themselves. They managed to get close enough to free its head from between the rails but unfortunately; one of its antlers was still trapped. So, they gently pulled him out by tugging at his fur until he finally freed himself completely.
Thankfully, both the deer and all of crew members made it out safe! What an amazing rescue story – we are so glad everything turned out okay in end!
“The bobcat had actually walked out on the ice and its paws froze to the ice. It couldn’t walk back, so it was kind of stuck there trying to figure out what to do,” Coby said in an interview with CBS News.
“We heard this story about a bobcat that got frozen in someones back yard,” one member of Coby’s team wrote on Reddit . “As we were driving closer I thought for sure it would run off but as we pulled up next to it realized how wrong I was.”
The animal kept struggling and scratching everyone who came close, so the team had to use a net to finally capture it. They then transported it safely back to where it belongs – in nature!
Coby told Radio West that the cat seemed to appreciate their help.
