My last name is Khrukin. My future wife’s is Odoyevsky. Her whole family is very proud of it. Her parents told me that their family comes from noblemen who were close to the czar. Maybe so, but now it does not play a role. After all, today they are an unremarkable, ordinary family: the wife teaches children in school, and the husband works as an engineer at a scientific institute.
I come from a small village in the Urals. My parents work at the local factory. Their parents are ordinary peasants, but were well-off. True, at one time they were dispossessed and exiled. Since he was little he was fond of wrestling. He became a master of sports, since he was engaged in martial arts. I connected my profession with automobiles: I got a job at a driving school and teach driving in extreme conditions. Besides, I teach martial arts in one of the most prestigious sports schools.
When I was a kid, I was often insulted because of my last name. That’s what pushed me to take up sports so I could fight back against bullies. Now I’m not just ceased to be complex about my surname, but even began to be proud of it. After all, on my wall hangs so many diplomas and certificates. However, my girlfriend is not crazy about my name and decided that he would not change it. She argues that the future child in school will be very difficult.
She does not want to understand that I was perfectly motivated by my last name. In the girl’s opinion, things are different now. Here I am sure that she does not deserve to carry my last name yet. I am known and respected by many people in our city, influential people come to me for help. But nobody knows who my Anya is.
Well, she can stay Odoyevskaya, that’s her business. But my son must bear my surname, there can be no other options. We’ll see how it turns out. Whether the surname will paint him or he will paint her!
